additional haikus

creeping out once more
filling the sky with colors
a perfect sunrise

Up the stream it goes
down the hill it flows once more
to reach the river

Haiku

streching out its arms
through the grassland
roots of a tree

high above the sky
looking down upon the land
a black feathered bird

whistling wind
mountain of clouds
upcoming storm

Reflection:
These Haikus were inspired by nature, just by looking
at our surroundings we could make something creative
out of it.

Tanka

underneath the tree
buried deep into the earth
a burrow appears
hidding from the light afraid
to take chances that may fail

Reflection:
This Tanka shows both nature and
emotion. It shows that I am afraid to take
the risk not knowing if I would succeed.

Onomatopoeia and Hyperbole

By the beach

The whoosh of the breeze
The splash of the waves
The clash of thunder and lightning
what a perfect thunderstorm

Reflection:
This is a poem for onomatopoeia.
I was able to come up with this poem by imagining
myself on the beach and hearing the sounds of nature.

Happiness

I would search across the ocean
to find that one thing
that would keep me from thinking
of all the bad things

I would run a thousand miles
to see a smiley face
that would greet me everyday
Indeed I have found happiness.

Reflection:
This is a poem for Hyperbole. The actions that are written
in the poem are exagerated and are meant to
express my emotions inside. This poem shows
that I would do everything to find happiness.

Participle Poem

Bloom

I am a flower
Blossoming under the sun
Swaying with the breeze of life,
Waiting in the rain
for a glimpse of sunlight,
Catching morning dew amidst
the darkness,
Seeping in nutrients to fulfill my knowledge,
Growing stronger each day
I stand still,
As I watch myself blossom.

Reflection:

This was an assignment given to us by our teacher we were to think of an object, animal or an abstract idea that would best symbolize ourselves then make a participle poem following the example she has given.

In the process of making this poem I got to reflect on who I am  and I was able to make something creative out of it.
